Fly Paper Products is a literary-inspired gift company creating clever, cozy, and book-loving goods—from soy candles and literary teas to mugs, totes, and curated gift sets. We partner with bookstores, museums, libraries, boutiques, and gift shops across the country to bring thoughtful, story-driven products to readers everywhere.

We are seeking a strategic, relationship-driven Wholesale Sales Manager to grow and manage our wholesale channel while strengthening partnerships with existing accounts.

Position Overview

The Wholesale Sales Manager is responsible for driving wholesale revenue growth through new account acquisition, account management, sales strategy, and collaboration with internal teams. This role balances big-picture planning with hands-on sales execution and relationship building. The ideal candidate can relate to gift and stationery retailers and buyers and communicate our brand message in a manner that is equal parts engaging and effective. This person is flexible and prepared to adapt to the ever-changing needs of small businesses and is comfortable connecting the dots between their daily tasks and the larger FPP brand strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Growth

  • Develop and execute a wholesale sales strategy to meet and exceed revenue targets
  • Identify, pursue, and onboard new wholesale accounts including bookstores, gift shops, museums, and specialty retailers
  • Manage the full sales cycle from outreach and presentations to order placement and follow-up
  • Representing Fly Paper Products at trade shows, sales meetings, and industry events

Account Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with existing wholesale partners to drive repeat orders and long-term growth
  • Provide account support including product recommendations, merchandising guidance, and seasonal launches
  • Monitor account performance and identify opportunities for expansion or re-engagement

Product & Market Strategy

  • Collaborate with Product Development and Marketing teams to share customer feedback and inform new product ideas
  • Help plan wholesale assortments, pricing strategies, and promotional initiatives
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer needs

Operations & Reporting

  • Forecast sales, track performance metrics, and report regularly on wholesale results
  • Coordinate with operations and fulfillment teams to ensure accurate orders and timely delivery
  • Maintain CRM records, sales pipelines, and account documentation

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of wholesale sales or account management experience (gift, stationery, books, home goods, or lifestyle brands preferred)
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Comfortable with outbound sales, presentations, and negotiations
  • Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple accounts simultaneously
  • Experience with trade shows and B2B sales platforms a plus
  • Familiarity with Shopify, Faire, or CRM systems preferred

Position Details

·        Job is full-time, salaried, and located in Ann Arbor, MI

·        Bachelor’s degree preferred

·        2 to 3 years sales or account management experience preferred

·        Experience in retail and/or gift industry preferred

·        Capacity for travel in August, September and October each year

·        Ability to take constructive feedback and pivot as necessary

·        Experience with Excel software and Quickbooks preferred

·        Book Lover preferred
